European Maps

March, 2006

We traveled a little over 3,000 kilometers or about 2,000 miles in March going from Frankfurt, Germany through Valencia, Spain to Lisbon, Portugal..

October, 2006

We returned to Lisbon to get the bike and went north to Intermot in Cologne, Germany and on to Frankfurt, Munich and Venice.

November, 2006

It was down to freezing in Venice so we headed for the south of Spain on November 3rd.  When we got to Seville it was only in the 50's at night, what Venice was lucky to get up to.

July, 2007

We spent the winter in Rota, Spain.  It's at the left end of the green line above.  In February we left the bike there and returned home to take care of our burned house.  In July we returned to Rota, picked up the bike and headed north.  We traveled through Portugal and up to Denmark to the first GWRRA Wing Ding in Europe, then to Holland, the British Isles and two GoldWing Treffens, the Irish and the British, then across to Oktoberfest, south through the Alps, up to Bolzano to visit friends, south to Naples, North to Rome and Tuscany and then to Amsterdam, where we left the bike with some more friends in the middle of November.  We did about 13,000 miles (22,000 km.) in almost 6 months.

Summer of 2008

We traveled across Europe from mid-March to Early October.  We started in Amsterdam, Holland and ended in southern Italy.  The red line is our route, and the dotted red line is where we took the train from Helsinki, Finland to Saint Petersburg and Moscow, Russia and back.  We left the bike in Helsinki during this part of the trip.
